I remember when younger age, doing “escunas” tours in Paraty, Rio de Janeiro. Hoping into a boat with the family for the day and visiting different beaches and small islands, with stops for snorkeling and swimming, even jumping from the boat.
Those memories plus living for almost 17 years in San Diego, surrounded by marinas full with sail and powerboats, always made me want to learn how to sail. In the beginning I ended up sailing on a small Capri 22″ with a good friend of mine that gave me some basics lessons. But it was only last year, during the pandemic that I decided to take my ASA 101 first sailing class at Harbor Sailboats.
